Sustainability

What we said. What we have done.

Commitments, and what became of them. A target is recorded here as a target, not as a result, and nothing moves into the achieved column until someone inside the group has confirmed it.

Register 01 · Committed

The commitments,as they were made.

These are the standards the group has published for itself. Some of them describe how it already works. Others are targets, and this page keeps the two apart. Where a target is not met, it stays open and stays here. It does not get a new date.

Four of these exist as documents anyone can read: the Sustainability and Environmental Policy, the Ethical Sourcing and Supplier Code of Conduct, the Packaging and Waste Reduction Policy and the Carbon Footprint Reduction Strategy. All four are board approved and sit in the policy register.

  • 01Carbon neutral by 2030 across the group
  • 02100% reusable, refillable, recyclable or compostable packaging by 2030
  • 03Emissions offset through Flexport.org, historical, inbound and outbound
  • 041,500+ ingredient blocklist applied group-wide, with no exception for cost or convenience
  • 05Zero microplastics · zero oxybenzone in any product, in any market
  • 06Post-consumer recycling for packaging customers send back
  • 07One supplier code for every company in the group and every supplier it buys from

Register 02 · Achieved

What we canshow today.

This is the part the group can evidence today. It is short. An item only appears here once someone inside the group has confirmed it, and more will be published as more is verified.

Printing

Certain inks the group prints with are already fully or partially vegetable-based. That much is confirmed. The rest of the print work has not been checked, so it is not claimed here.

Formulation

More than 1,500 ingredients are blocked. The list is applied uniformly across every company, with no exception for cost or convenience. Microplastics and oxybenzone are on it, in every product and every market.

Certification

Mazi Beauty is certified vegan and cruelty-free. The certifications are verifiable with the issuing bodies, the Leaping Bunny programme among them.

Policies

The Sustainability and ESG policies are written, board approved and published in full rather than summarised. They sit inside a register of fifty-two policies across ten domains, every one downloadable as a PDF, set at holding level and applied to every company in the group and to its suppliers.

Production

The group fills in its own plant in Indianapolis, with bulk production in Miami. Production sits inside the group rather than with a contract manufacturer.

That is the whole of this register. Everything else on this page is open work or an intention, and it is labelled as one.

Register 03 · In progress

Open work,named as such.

Everything below is started and unfinished. It runs across the whole group and not only the skincare: what is produced, what it is packed in, how it moves, who supplies it, and the hardware the technology companies sell.

01
Packaging
Sugar cane tubes and vegetable-based inks are in use. The move to packaging that is fully reusable, refillable, recyclable or compostable is not finished, and the take-back of returned packaging is part of the same job. It will be reported material by material rather than as one percentage.
02
Carbon
The 2030 target stands and the Carbon Footprint Reduction Strategy is published. The measurement behind it is not, so this page quotes no figure until the group can also show how it was arrived at.
03
Suppliers
The Ethical Sourcing and Supplier Code of Conduct is published and applies to every company in the group and to the suppliers it buys from. How compliance is checked is not published yet. That is the next piece of work here.
04
Refills in pharmacies
Refillable skincare for European pharmacies is part of the Belgian and European rollout. It depends on the channel as much as on the product, and it is not everywhere yet.
05
Logistics
Goods reach the United States through a nationwide partner fulfilment network and Europe through partner warehouses. Belgian production is the next step.
06
The technology companies
Upvendo's kiosks and Glam Switch's devices are hardware, not formulas. The supplier code covers them like everything else, so the sourcing standard is the same. What a device costs in materials, and what happens to it at the end of its life, is not something the group publishes yet.

Register 04 · Current goals

What we areworking on now.

There are no fresh dates on this list. Each item moves up into the achieved register when it can be evidenced, and a commitment that slips gets restated rather than redated.

01
Measure, then claim
Publish a carbon figure only alongside the method that produced it. Until then the strategy is public and the number is not.
02
Finish the ink change
Take vegetable-based inks from certain print work to the rest of the printing the group controls, and say which packs are covered.
03
Report packaging by material
State what each component is made of and what happens to it after use, instead of averaging a portfolio into a single percentage.
04
Show the supplier work
Publish how the supplier code is applied, not only that it exists.
05
Include the hardware
Bring the kiosks and the devices into the same reporting as the formulas, so the group reports across all five industries rather than on cosmetics alone.
06
Keep this page current
Review the four registers and move items between them in public. A claim that cannot be supported comes off the page.
