Made in Belgium: why production is coming here

Production5 min read

Where a product is made is usually a footnote on the back of the carton. For Mazi Beauty it is the argument, and the eye serum is where it starts.

01

Is Mazi Beauty really made in Belgium?

Yes. The Red Algae Reviving Eye Serum is made in Belgium, and the packaging says it in full: Made in Belgium, fabriqué en Belgique. It is the first Mazi Beauty product to carry those words. The group's own Belgian factory is still to come.

"Quality you do not control is quality you cannot promise."

02

Why produce in Belgium instead of somewhere cheaper?

Mazi Beauty has formulated to European standards from day one, the strictest in the world: the EU bans thousands of ingredients that remain perfectly legal in the US, and the brand adds its own blocklist of more than 1,500 ingredients on top. Formulating that way already puts you one foot in Europe. Producing where the strictest rules apply is the logical next step: shorter lines to the Belgian pharmacy, European quality control, and work in the country itself.

There is a personal reason too. Robin Rouquart left Ghent in 2018 and always said he would build his company here as well.

What does that mean for the customer?

A product made in Belgium, sold in the Belgian pharmacy and delivered through mazibeauty.be, with Dutch-language customer service and reviews from verified Belgian buyers. And a brand you can actually reach: ask a question and the answer comes from someone who knows the region.

Formulation in-house: the recipe belongs to the company that sells the product.
